Three
persons, held hostage by the New People's Army (NPA) in Compostela Valley ,
were freed by the rebels Monday.
This
was disclosed to the Philippines News Agency by Capt. Ernest Carolina, 10th
Infantry Division spokesman.
The
three hostages that have been released were from Barangay Mahayahay, he said.
Two
of the captives are three-year-olds while the other is a one-year-old, and the
last one is a four-week old infant.
Last
Saturday, rebel forces took hostage around 39 residents from Sitios Tabon and
Dasuran, Barangay Panamin and Barangay Mahayahay, Mabini town, Compostela Valley
Rebels
from the NPA's "Front 2" and "PBC 6" were reportedly behind
this act.
