From the Philippine News Agency (Nov 29): DND's Gazmin urges Palparan to come out
of hiding
Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin has urged retired Maj. Gen. Jovito Palparan,
wanted for multiple counts of homicide and human right abuses, to come out and
clear his name if he is really innocent.
"If you are innocent, please come out as being a fugitive is tarring the
institution you have served," he stressed in Filipino.
Gazmin added that should Palparan give himself up to the authorities, he will
in a way be helping transform the military into a more professional and human
organization.
Palparan is also wanted for the disappearance of University of the
Philippines students Karen Empeno and Sherlyn Cadapan.
