Trying to stave off irrelevance after a historic peace deal between the government and his Moro rebel rivals, former Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) chairman Nur Misuari has revealed that he will meet with Islamic leaders in the Middle East in November to discuss the peace framework agreement between the Philippine government and the MILF, the Moro rebel movement that began as a MNLF breakaway group. It wasn't clear with whom Misuari was intending to meet. But the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which represents Muslim-dominated nations, sent a senior representative to the October 15 signing of the peace deal in Malacañang. The OIC is seeking to get the MILF and MNLF to work together to establish a unified Bangsamoro Coordination Council. Misuari added that they will oppose the agreement through peaceful means, and the MNLF is open to dialogue with the government. He said the MNLF felt betrayed when they were allegedly left out of the negotiations leading up to the new peace deal, which calls for the creation of a new Bangsamoro political entity to replace ARMM, which Misuari used to head....
