Bancasi, Butuan City – As part of its mission to ensure security and safety of the Caraganons during the observance of Undas 2019, the 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade deployed more than one-thousand (1, 000) troops and called for vigilance against the treachery of the CPP-NPA Terrorist yesterday, October 31, 2019.

The 402nd Brigade in partnership with the Police Regional Office 13, have crafted a region wide security plan to ensure the smooth and peaceful observance of the All Souls Day and All Saints Day as families and even tourists will most likely spend their long holiday break in possible convergence areas such as cemeteries, churches, market place, bus terminals and tourist spots.
Army and PNP troops intensified the conduct of checkpoints and visibility patrols in and out of the region since last week in anticipation against the CNTs and a measure to prevent entry of other lawless elements that may possibly instill fear and chaos to the region.
Col Maurito L Licudine, Commander of 402nd Brigade calls for vigilance against the CNTs as he stressed that CNTs don’t respect Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law and will create actions and scenarios that will discredit the government. He said that aside from the deployment of troops in the possible convergence areas, troops of the Brigade have been conducting Security Operations in the outskirts of Barangays and in the hinterlands since last week in preparation for the Undas 2019.
He said, “The CNTs will try their best to launch atrocities as they have been doing in the past. They disrespected holidays that our people celebrate such as this Undas celebration and even Christmas holidays wherein these CNTs highlight the atrocities they have committed against our people and government troops as an accomplishment during their CPP anniversary every December”.
“We must be alert against the treachery of the CNTs. We cannot be complacent against them and even other lawless elements. We call on all Caraganons to inform us when they observe suspicious personalities and cargos so that we can immediately act on it. Army and PNP personnel in uniform and civilian plain clothes were already scattered to monitor the hostile plans of the CNTs and other lawless elements. With the excellent partnership with the PNP, we assure the public of their safety and security during Undas 2019.” Col Licudine added.
