From the Philippine News Agency (Oct 2, 2019): All PH Navy ships ready for aid missions in Mindanao



All Philippine Navy (PN) ships and assets are ready for immediate deployment for humanitarian assistance and disaster response missions to the quake-battered areas of Mindanao.

"(Your Navy is) one with our people in eastern Mindanao to provide the necessary assistance that we can provide to offer. We have our vessels available if needed," PN Flag-Officer-in-Command, Vice Adm. Robert Empedrad, said in a statement on Friday.

Empedrad also raised the alert levels of the Navy's floating assets that might be deployed to the affected areas and directed the activation of the PN's disaster response and rescue teams (DRRTs).

The strategic sealift vessel, the BRP Davao del Sur (LD-602), is on standby for possible assistance and transportation of donations and relief goods coming from Manila and other parts of the country.

For those who would like to donate, they can directly coordinate with the Naval Operation Center at (02) 524-4981 and 0917-8045092 and Civil-Military Operation Group, PN at (02) 524-2061 loc 6133 and 0905-3926359/ 0920-6860377.

Meanwhile, the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao has already alerted its DRRTs to be ready for deployment to help haul relief goods from the national government.

Likewise, the BRP Conrado Yap (PS-39), currently in Davao for its "Show the Flag" mission, is on standby for deployment if needed.
