CAMP MONTECLARO, Miagao, Iloilo, Nov. 18 – The local government of Bingawan, Iloilo has created its Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) on November 14, following the joint meeting of its Municipal Peace and Order Council and Municipal Development Council.

During the meeting, which was held at the Bingawan Municipal Hall, the Communist New People’s Army (NPA) Terrorist was declared as Persona-Non-Grata.

An assembly of local government unit key leaders, national government agencies, members of the 61st Infantry Battalion, Philippine National Police, civil society organizations, reservists and students were able to witness the signing of Executive Order No. 66 that created the MTF-ELCAC in support to the "Whole-of-Nation" approach of the government in addressing insurgency.

Resolution No. 02 Series of 2019 declaring the CNTs as Persona-Non-Grata was also highlighted during the Peace Covenant Signing presided by Bingawan mayor Mark Palabrica.

The activity was participated in by Board Member Matt Palabrica, representatives from the National Intelligence Coordinating Authority, PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Education, barangay officials, religious sector and other stakeholders.

Prior to the meeting, the local populace of Bingawan and stakeholders participated in a Walk for Peace around the town.
