CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur (DWDD) - In our bid to improve our Command and Control capability and further enhance the planning capacity in the employment of different PAF aircraft and system in Southern Luzon, Tactical Operations Wing – Southern Luzon (TOWSOL) conducted the PAF Air Power Capability Forum at Headquarters, Joint Task Force “BICOLANDIA” (JTFB), at Camp Elias Angeles, Pili, Camarines Sur.
Present at the activity were BGen Peale Jon L Bondoc AFP, Deputy Commander, JTFB as the Guest of Honor; Col Llewillyn S Banaag PAF (GSC), Acting Wing Commander, TOWSOL; and, LTC Melvin A Banua PAF (GSC), Group Commander, TOG 5.
This activity strives to create seamless coordination and promote greater interoperability in the conduct of air operations in the future. Further, the PAF leadership is focused on achieving our vision for the future as embodied in our PAF Flight Plan 2028. Aside from modernizing our equipment and assets, we are also keen on fully implementing our Integrated Air Operations Systems (IAOS) as our way of improving our capability in the whole gamut of employment of air power.
Moreover, the objective of this forum is to empower the participants to be more knowledgeable on the latest PAF aircraft and its weapon capabilities and limitations, to enhance the common understanding among all concerned units in the conduct of air operations in a joint setting.
The attendees of the forum were the staff of JTFB, TRIAD Officers of Brigades and Battalions, the Naval Component OPCON to JTFB under SOLCOM, and other key Stakeholders. The one-day event featured lectures from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that discussed the following topics:
a. Integrated Air Operations System (IAOS); (OA3, HPAF)
b. Integrated Air Defense System (IADS); (ADC & 5TH FW)
c. Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance System (ISRS); (300TH AISW)
d. Search and Rescue System (SRS); (505TH SRG)
e. Mobility Support System (MSS); (220TH AW & 205TH THW)
f. Surface Strike System (SSS) (15TH SW)
g. PAF Aircraft System: Capabilities and its Limitation;
h. PAF Doctrine on air operations; and,
i. Air operations in a joint environment and Issues and Problems.
