FIFTY members of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from the police and military underwent post-blast investigation course from Oct. 17 to 28 in the regional PNP headquarters to enhance the skills on IED disposal.
Sr. Insp. Catherine dela Rey said the course was participated by the PNP, AFP and NBI counterparts from police regional offices of 9, 10, 11 and 12 and Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
Dela Rey said three members of the EOD team of the DCPO, composed of the investigator, focal person and EOD bomb squad member, and one personnel from the Regional Crime Laboratory Office were among the participants of the training.
Since Monday until today, part of their course was the simulation exercises on improvise explosive device (IED) explosion and post-blast investigation that will be conducted in Bundalo quarry site, Bunawan District.
“The residents should not be afraid if they hear explosions because they are just part of the exercise,” she said.
The 12-day course is being conducted by the Directorate for Intelligence through the Philippine Bomb Data Center from Manila.
