Military to hold Muslim youth leaders summit

From the Philippine Information Agency (Jul 26): Military to hold Muslim youth leaders summit

A military brigade assigned in Mati City will organized the 1st Muslim Youth Leaders Summit in Banaybanay on September.

Capt Andrew Linao of the 701st Infantry Brigade disclosed that some 250 Muslim youth leaders from the local government units of Davao Oriental and some municipalities of Compostela Valley were invited to the four-day summit.

Capt Linao said that the summit is in partnership with the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, Department of Health and the provincial governments of Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley.

He revealed that aside from team building activities and project proposal making workshop, they also invited speakers from the DOH, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Department of Education (DepEd), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Provincial Muslim Affairs.

“We will have also a COOLtura night, in which we invited the parents of the participants,” he said.

The 701st infantry brigade also conducted the 1st Indigenous Peoples Youth Leaders Summit in Baganga last June 27-30, in which 240 IP youth leaders from Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley, Agusan and Surigao participated.
