From ABS-CBN (Dec 29): Twin blasts rock Cotabato
COTABATO CITY - Two home-made bombs exploded along Sinsuat Avenue in this city Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
City Police Precinct 2 Chief S/Insp. Carlo Jurinario said the first blast occurred outside a karaoke bar.
An explosion in front of a nearby restaurant followed at 11 a.m. today.
Jurinario said recovered parts of the two improvised explosion devices (IEDs) were similar.
"Pareho sila ginamitan ng pulbura at may mga pako na ginamit at shrapnels," the police officer said.
Jurinario said they have received bomb threats in the past weeks.
"Ito na siguro iyun, kaya we are on alert," he said.
Authorities have yet to identify the perpetrators and their motive.
