From the Philippine Information Agency (Dec 29): Troopers engage communities in pre-Christmas activities

LAGANGILANG, Abra -- The 24th Infantry (Wildcat) Battalion of the 7th Infantry Division concluded its first pre-Christmas activities for a Cause on December 14 and 15 at its headquarters in Sitio Barbarit, Brgy. Tagodtod this town with support and participation of stakeholders.

On the first day was the Basketball Friendship Games joined by Lagangilang Municipal Police Station, Tagodtod Youth and 77thCivilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU).

Aside from engaging community dynamics, the troopers also led the Road Run and tree planting to intensify their role in mitigating and combating the adverse effects of climate change.

Another featured activity was pinning of rank insignias to battalion personnel in recognition of their meritorious service for the country. Tineg Mayor Corinthia Crisologo accompanied Lt.Col. Monib Mamao, 24th IB Commander, in the pinning ceremony.

The new Officer’s Mess Hall donated by the local government of Tineg was also inaugurated.

 Since the 24th IB has just assumed command post after the 50th IB here last October, the Wildcat Troopers started to establish good tidings and develop rapport with the community.
