3ID chief wants closer ties with mediamen

From the Philippine Information Agency (Dec 29): 3ID chief wants closer ties with mediamen

Among the initial wish list of newly installed 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) commander Brig. Gen. Harold N. Cabreros is to meet and know the tri-media practitioners in Panay and Negros Islands soon.

“Maybe we could schedule a fellowship to know each other and make ourselves accessible with each other,” Cabreros said during a first media interaction before he officially assumed as the 3ID’s top official in a ceremony last Dec. 23 at Camp Gen. Macario Peralta, Jr. in Jamindan town.

Cabreros predecessor, now Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) chief Maj. Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero,  initiated media-friendly initiatives like Army Transformation Roadmap orientation seminar, boodle fightwith mediamen, socialization and the active operation of the Division’s Public Affairs Office (DPAO), among others.

“Usually the new commander continues the plans initiated by the outgoing commander,” he stressed.

Cabreros has been the EastMinCom deputy commander prior to his 3ID assignment.

The change of command ceremony was graced by Philippine Army commanding general Lieutenant General Eduardo Año as the Presiding General Officer and guest speaker.
