The Office of Moro Islamic Liberation Front’s (MILF), Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim issued a press release which runs as follows:
In preparation of and as a support to the Bangsamoro Basic Law, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) led by Secretary Yasmin Busran-Lao together with all the commissioners and some NCMF officials went for the first time to the camp of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Darapanan Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao last December 20, 2014 to visit and meet MILF Chairman al Hajj Murad Ebrahim.
The visit was in line with the policy of NCMF to strengthen its partnership, linkages and coordination with other agencies for the promotion and protection of the general welfare of the Muslim Filipino communities in the Philippines particularly the Bangsamoro.
Secretary Busran-Lao introduced the mandate, policies and programs of the Commission to Chairman Murad like the promotion and development of the Philippine halal industry, annual hajj operations, and the Legal Support for Detainees Program.
Chairman Murad was glad to see the development of these programs and was supportive of it, aware that this mandate will be conveyed to them as the BBL pushes through.
The Amir (Murad) was appreciative of the efforts of the Commission in visiting for the first time Camp Darapanan.
