From the Manila Standard Today (Feb 6): Guns, bombs seized from Agusan NPAs
Police and army troopers on Wednesday seized at least twelve improvised explosive devices and assorted firearms and ammunitions, communication equipment, medicines and subversive documents from suspected New People’s Army rebels in Carmen, Agusan del Norte.
State forces composed of the 13th Regional Public Safety Battalion of the Police Regional Office-13 and the Army’s 402nd Infantry Brigade clashed with 15 NPA rebels for about 15 minutes in Barangay Rojales at 11:30 a.m, police said in a statement.
The rebels fled, leaving their firearms, ammunitions, improvised bombs and other belongings at a temporary camp in the area, police said.
A suspected NPA member was arrested and brought to the police regional office for questioning, police said.
Items recovered from the suspects included armalite rifles, a grenade launcher, grenades, improvised bombs and blast caps.
