From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 2): Army, DOST 13 train soldiers on food safety, meat processing

The 402nd Brigade Philippine Army led by Brigadier General Jonathan G. Ponce partnered with the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office (DOST-13) headed by Regional Director Dominga Mallonga in conducting training on Monday on the introduction of food safety on meat and salted fish processing.

The activity, according to 402nd Brigade spokesperson Capt. Joseph Palatao, is participated in by military personnel from the different units of the 402nd Brigade, purposely to provide knowledge to the participants who are team players of the Bayanihan Team Activities (BTA), all over the areas of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte.

”Through this training, one can gain skills that can be shared to others through the BTA. One can also impart knowledge to loved ones that will serve an alternative source of living,” said BGen. Ponce.
