In a bid to rescue a Chinese businessmen and her daughter seized by 10 unidentified gunmen, the police have launched pursuit operation to track down the whereabout of the victims, and the abductors clad in camouflage uniforms and bonnet masks in this city and adjoining areas.

Isabela City police commander Supt. Albert Larubis said the pursuit operations was launched in coordination with the military forces based in this province.

Larubis identified the victims as Dina Iraham, 45, and her daughter, Yahong Tan, 19, who are natives of China but had long been staying and doing business in this city.

Larubis said the victims were seized around 9:35 p.m. Thursday along I. Magno extension Street, Barangay Port Area, this city.

He said investigation showed the victims were inside the Dalby’s videoke house, which they own and operate, when at least 10 gunmen arrived and introduced themselves as operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

He said the gunmen suddenly grabbed the victims and dragged them to the shore and forced to board on two motorized bancas.

The videoke house of the victims is located just a few meters away from the shoreline.

Larubis said the suspects sped under cover of darkness towards the direction of Panigayan Island.
