Police had already identified three suspects in an explosion in front of a business establishment in the business district here at dawn of Tuesday that alarmed residents of
Superintendent
Maximo Taclas, Vigan
City chief of police,
said the suspects were identified through a closed- circuit television
(CCTV)camera installed near the scene.
He
said the police are looking into a dispute between Danny Tiu, the owner of a
hardware shop, and the owner of a lot he bought recently as possible motive of
the incident.
The
incident at about 2:00 a.m. last Tuesday happened when unidentified suspects
on-board in motorcycle lobbed an improvised explosive device (IED) that
exploded in front of a hardware store along the Genera Luna Street in Vigan City .
Fortunately,
no one was hurt after the explosion but the business building was heavily
damaged due to the broken glass windows with still undetermined worth.
Taclas
allayed the fear of the residents and visitors saying that the explosion was
not a terroristic act but an isolated incident.
He
also assured safety and security at the city proper as he deployed “round the
clock” visibility and monitoring by policemen deployed in the locality.
