The Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights is set to conduct an investigation on the reported massacre of a mother and her two minor children belonging to B’laan tribe of Tampakan, South Cotabato, where a multi-billion dollar mine project is located. During his recent visit here, Senate justice committee chair Francis “Chiz” Escudero said he just received the report and he already tasked his staff to get the full details. “Once we have the full details, we assure the public that an investigation will be conducted,” Escudero said. Earlier, Army’s 10th Infantry Division spokesperson Lt. Col. Lyndon Paniza, claimed that all operatives involved in the operation were already recalled to the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) for investigation. Lt. Col. Alexis Bravo, commander of the 27th Infantry Battalion, earlier was quoted as saying that his troops went to the village of Bong Mal in Tampakan, South Cotabato after receiving reports about the presence of “bandits” led by a certain Daguil Capion in the area on October 18...
