Army bomb disposal team on Sunday afternoon safely defused a live anti-tank rocket found by tribesmen in former conflict zones in Maguindanao, the Army here said. Colonel Prudencio Asto, speaking for the 6th Infantry Division, said the rocket propelled grenade was found by two children, aged 11 and 15, lying idle in a vast track of farmland while feeding their water buffaloes in Datu Unsay, Maguindanao. The area was the battlefield of government forces and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement (BIFM) in August.... “Good enough the children did not touch the ordnance and immediately reported their discovery to the Army detachment nearby,” Asto said, adding that even carabao or cows that could accidentally step on the ordnance could trigger explosion....
