From the Philippine Star (Oct 22): New Westmincom chief to assume post

A veteran army commander designated as Armed Forces’ Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) chief will formally assume Wednesday during a formal turnover of command ceremony, according to an official here. Maj. Gen. Rey Ardo, who will leave his post as 6th Army Division chief based in Central Mindanao, will assume as the Westmincom commander as Lt. Gen. Noel Coballes was named as Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Vice Chief of Staff.... Lt. Col. Randolf Cabangbang, Spokesman of Westmincom, said the turnover of command will be held at the ground of Camp Navarro, former base of Southern Command, the military’s largest command outside Manila. Ardo, a graduate of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) class ’81 and bemedaled officer, will lead the anti-terror operation campaign in southern Philippines. AFP Chief of Staff Jessie Dellosa is expected to lead the installation of Ardo during the brief and simple turnover of command ceremony.
