From the Philippine Star (Oct 22): Military says NPA leaving their camps in Quezon

Communist rebels in Quezon have abandoned their camps in the province, the military said on Monday. Southern Luzon Command public information officer, Col. Generoso Bolina, said that last Oct. 20 government troops recovered a weapons cache in one of the camps of the New People's Army. He said a platoon of soldiers of the 1st Infantry Battalion while patrolling at Sitio Botae and Tata Abon, Cagsiay 3, Mauban, Quezon around 11:40 a.m. discovered the NPA rebels' firearms.
Recovered from the areas were an M-14 rifle, three M-16 assault rifles, an improvised explosive device, and 10 blasting caps.
