CAMP MATEO CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal (DWDD) – Eight (8) Officers of the 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter” Division were promoted to the next higher ranks and three (3) Civilian employees were recognized during the traditional flag raising ceremony here at Camp Mateo Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal, today, October 1, 2018.

Major General Rhoderick M Parayno AFP, Commander, 2ID led the donning of ranks to the newly promoted officers and giving of certificates to the civilian employees.

Cpt Ruben S Ayroso of 59IB, Cpt Arthur H Allauigan of OG7, Cpt Esteban L Mangabat of OG3, Cpt Louie A Nicolas of SSBn, Cpt Elfie M Bendo of OG1, Cpt Jerome Noel P Ducusin of OG2, and Cpt Ariel C Rosuelo of OG8 were promoted to the rank of Major, while 1Lt Annie Louraine C Falcatan, OG1 now became Captain.

Furthermore, Ms Erlinda C Bares, Division Civilian Supervisor, Ms Gloria R Carag, Nursing Attendant I, and Ms Julita G Mejia, Midwife II were given Certificate of Recognition for their thirty (30) years of continuous satisfactory service in this Command.

KUTA MAJ CESAR L SANG-AN, Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur (DWDD) – A composite team of 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, PNP Tagoloan and NBI clashed against Daulah Islamiyah /Maute remnants Sunday (September 30, 2018) at BrgyMalimbato and Upper Dimayon, Tagoloan, LanaodelNorte.

In an interview by DWDD with Cpt Clint Antipala, acting 1st Infantry Division Public Affairs Officer, the firefight lasted for about ten minutes and resulted to the neutralization of Hadji Rasol Mambuay @Mercury and recovery of one Elisco M16 A1 rifle, one hand grenade, one short magazine, two handheld radios and several IED materials.



The operation aimed to apprehend DianalanDimanatang Imam @ Papayungan and HadjiRasolMambuay @ Mercury and their men identified to be remnants of DI/ Maute terrorist who were involved in the Marawi Siege but were able to escape.



One government soldier was also killed during the encounter.

“Our deepest condolences to the love ones of our soldier and killed Maute remnant.” said Maj Gen Roseller Murillo, JTF ZAMPELAN Commander.

“Rest assured that the heroism and sacrifices of our soldier will not be in vain. We will continue to pursue the remanants of DI/Maute terrorist.” he added. 1DPAO / MCAG

The Peace and Development Roadmap of the current government is centered on the Six-Point Peace and Development Agenda to finally attain peaceful resolution of all internal armed conflicts:
  1. Meaningful implementation of the Framework Agreement on Bangsamoro (FAB) and Comprehensive Agreement on Bangsamoro (CAB) towards healing in the Bangsamoro;
  2. Completion of implementation of remaining commitments under the GPH-MNLF Peace Agreement for a just closure;
  3. Accelerated signing and implementation of peace accords with the communist insurgents;
  4. Immediate conclusion of the peace process with the CPLA and the RPMP-RPA-ABB;
  5. Peace promoting catch-up socio-economic development in conflict-affected areas; and
  6. Building of a culture of peace and conflict sensitivity.

SAN JORGE, Samar (DWDD) – The 63rd Infantry “Innovator” Battalion has successfully conducted a Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) at Buenavista National High School at San Jorge, Samar last September 27 – 29, 2018.

The YLS was jointly conducted through the efforts of Teachers, student and various government agencies.

There were discussions on illegal drugs, teen pregnancy, deceptive strategy of recruiting minors by Communist terrorist, tree planting and team building activities in the hope of widening the skills and knowledge of the youth in conjunction with different government programs thus making them more responsible citizen’s and eventually as leaders of this nation.

CAMP DAVID SABIDO, Zamboanga Del Sur (DWDD) – Cash and livelihood assistance to P325,000.00 were turned – over by Mr. Arnel F. Gudio, the Acting Provincial Director of DILG, Zamboanga del Sur to five (5) former member of New People’s Army (NPAs) who previously surrendered to the 53rd Infantry Battalion under the 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division, Philippine Army in Camp David Sabido, Brgy Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon (DWDD) – The 8th Infantry Battalion, together with the Local Government Unit of Impasugong delivered basic services and conducted community dialogue to the local residents of SitioKalipayan, BrgyDumalaguing, Impasugong, Bukidnon yesterday, October 1, 2018.

The activity was carried out under the “MagbuligaKoy” Program of the local government unit and the 8IB, which is a convergence program and initiative of the Municipality of Impasugong spearheaded by Hon. Anthony A. Uy, Municipal Mayor. Its aim is to extend the programs of the Local Government to the communities to continuously resolve issues that are being exploited by the CPP-NPA Terrorists in their recruitment efforts.

“Your Philippine Army together with our stakeholders are working hand in hand to support and protect the people in the community who are the main targets for recruitment of CPP-NPA Terrorists.” said Lieutenant Colonel Ronald M Illana, the Commanding Officer of the 8th Infantry Battalion.

“The local government plays a vital role in resolving the issues and problems of the community which is essential in preventing conflicts.” he added.
