CAMP GERONA, Murcia, Negros Occidental –A member of the Communist CPP-NPA Terrorist Group (CTG) identified as Harlyn Balora a.k.a “Karyll” was arrested for violating R.A. 9516 & R.A. 10591 also known as Illegal Possession of Firearms and Explosives Act following an Implemented Warrant of Arrest against Romeo Nanta @ Juanito Magbanua was conducted by AFP and PNP at Sitio Montara in Brgy. Kamang-kamang, Isabela, Negros Occidental on February 19, 2022 (Saturday).

A Joint Law Enforcement Operation by the elements of 2nd NOCPMFC, PIU NOCPPO, ISABELA MPS, 303rd Brigade and elements of 94th Infantry Battalion was conducted against Romeo Nanta Alias “Juanito Magbanua”, for the crime of Homicide. However, he was able to evade while Harlyn Balora was apprehended for possessing (1) unit of 9mm Luger MOD TEC KG9 with serial No. 910673 chamber loaded with one (1) live ammo, one (1) unit KG9 magazine loaded with 8 pcs of 9mm live ammunitions, three (3) pcs CTG 40mm, HEDP M433 explosives, and one (1) pc of fragmentation grenade. Balora is also known for her different aliases such as “KARYLE” and Cristel Hestoria. She is a resident of Brgy Libertad, Bacolod City. Other pieces of evidence that were recovered include assorted personal belongings and subversive documents.

The confiscated items were brought to Isabela MPS for documentation and proper disposition, while, Harlyn Balora was brought to Isabela Health Center and subsequently brought to Isabela MPS for proper disposition.

Cases for Violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and RA 9516 (Illegal/Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, Dealing In, Acquisition or Disposition of Firearms, Ammunition Or Explosives) will be filed against Harlyn Balora.

Brigadier General Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander, commended the operating personnel from AFP and PNP for the successful arrest of Harlyn Balora, a concrete companion of Romeo Nanta, a wanted Communists CPP-NPA Terrorist member. BGen Pasaporte belies report that the arrest was a set-up.

“All statements coming from these leftist groups or organizations were fabricated lies and propaganda just to cover-up the clear violations of the arrested Harlyn Balora. It is a legal Joint AFP-PNP Law Enforcement operation. There was no human rights violations nor illegal arrest that occurred during the incident. She is a terrorist. She also violated RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and RA 9516 (Illegal/Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, Dealing In, Acquisition or Disposition of Firearms, Ammunition Or Explosives). She is also a companion of a criminal with an existing warrant of arrest. How will they explain that? Again, Activism is not a crime, but supporting Terrorism is a Crime! “ BGen Pasaporte stated.
