CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela- 500 former Kagimungan and Anakpawis members and supporters condemned the deceptions and atrocities of the Communist Terrorist Group and its terrorist front organizations in the concluded Cagayan Peace Convention held at Cagayan Provincial Capitol on February 21, 2022.

The said participants took their oath of allegiance to the government in ending the local communist armed conflict and burned the flags of the Anakpawis, Kagimungan, and the terrorist Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF). They also expressed their disgust to the CPP founder Joma Sison and his allies as they turn their effigy into ashes.
According to Balanni Barangay Captain Mauricio Aguinaldo, SAMBAYANAN-Cagayan Chapter Coordinator and a former rebel, the Cagayan Alliance for Peace and Development initiated the said activity to manifest their support in the campaign against insurgency in the province of Cagayan. The activity showed their realization from the false ideologies that the CTGs have sowed in their minds.

“Daytuy nga organisasyon ket napintas para awanin ti papanan pay ti armado. Labanan mi dagiti NPA! Maysa kami nga tumulong ti gobyerno ken tumulong nga mangiwaragawag ti tattao nu kasanu iti kinadakis nga ar-ramiden ti CPP-NPA-NDF. Haan mi ipalubos pay nga adu ti matay gapu lamang ti aramid iti teroristang CPP-NPA-NDF!”

Alias Victor, former Kagimungan organizer in Sto. Niño, Cagayan told in an interview that he was deceived by the ideologies of the organization from year 2010-2017. But, his life then was not easy because he was continuously threatened if he refuses to do what the CTGs asked him to do. “Narigat. Kasi uray kapigsa trabaho mi nu kayat da kami nga ayaban mapilitan kami nga mapan. Kasi nu madi kami makituntong kenyada adda ibaga da ken pamilya mi ti delikado. Amin kuma nga ti sumupsuporta ti NPA tuladan da kami nga agsubli ti sidung ti gobyerno tapnu maramanan da met nu kasanu ti pammateg ti sidung ti gobyerno.”

Meanwhile, BGen Steve D Crespillo, Brigade Commander of 501st Infantry Brigade thanked the locals for their unity in condemning the CTGs to attain inclusive peace and development in Cagayan.
MGen Laurence E Mina, Commander, 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army urged the remaining members and supporters of the CTG to return to the folds of the law to avail of the services and enjoy the benefits under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP.

The participants came from the municipalities of Sto. Niño, Rizal, Aparri, Baggao, Sta. Ana, Tuao, Sta. Teresita, Gonzaga, Abulug, Amulung, Lal-lo, Allacapan, Alcala, Buguey, Piat, and Pamplona. They received assistance from the Provincial Government of Cagayan.
