IMPASUGONG, BUKIDNON- Two (2) former rebels start a new beginning after receiving PhP 8,000.00 worth of livelihood starter kits each through the Pangkabuhayan sa PagBangon at Ginhawa (PBG) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at DTI Negosyo Center, Sumilao, Bukidnon on August 25, 2020.

Mr. Jose D. Maureal, Senior Trade and Industries Development Specialist, Head DTI Malaybalay awarded to the former rebels the livelihood starter kits of Gardening Tools which includes one plastic spray can, one sprinkler, one machete, two bolos, one shovel, two sickles, one pick mattock, one plastic drum, and one metal harrow.

@Hawi, one of the former rebels expressed his deep appreciation to the government. He said, “Dako kaayo namong pasalamat nga kami gitagaan og kagamitan para sa amoang pag pang-uma. (We are so thankful that they gave us tools to be used in farming. We hope that this program will continue so that our former comrades who are willing to return to the folds of the government will also benefit this.)

” (Lets thank our government for their initiatives in giving you what you need to prepare for your reintegration to the community. Do not be angry anymore with the government, as our government has many programs for you.)

Col. Edgardo V. Talaroc Jr, Commanding Officer of 8th Infantry Battalion. (We are thankful to the DTI, as our peace and development partner, for providing our former rebels with the things they need to start a new life. This unit will continue to collaborate with the different agencies to fulfill the government’s program to pursue lasting peace and development.)

PBG is a livelihood and entrepreneurship program of DTI and in line with the government’s Whole-of-the Nation Approach in ending local communist armed conflict and as part of Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) which intends to help former rebels in returning to the mainstream society and be productive citizens.
