OROQUIETA CITY, Aug. 26 (PIA)--In support to the government’s efforts to end the decade-long insurgency problem of the country, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Occidental conducted the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Implementation Review and Formulation/Updating of the Barangay Development Plan (BDP), August 19.
The activity aims to update BDPs thereby recalibrating the existing RCSP action plans to align to its strategic objectives vis-à-vis the mandated timeline of implementation.
DILG Provincial Director Pablio Benitez, Jr. said amidst the pandemic, the department together with member agencies have all hands-on deck towards the effective and sustainable implementation of RCSP.
He added that this targets to liberate the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs) from severe deprivation of basic government service aids.
“It is ideal to have a focus strategy and utmost attention towards these barangays on the premise that government interventions through RCSP will counter forces of insurgency,” Benitez said.
Participants included members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 10th Infantry Battalion headed by their Commanding Officer Lt. Colonel Ray Tiongson, local chief executives and other local functionaries, and DILG field officers whose areas of responsibility belong to 2019 and 2020 target RCSP barangays of the province.
On top of the discussions about the relevant DILG issuances, RCSP framework and operational methodology, presentation of accomplishments as well as review, formulation and/or updating of plans, said activity targets strong commitment of concerned LGUs and assures meaningful collaboration among stakeholders.
After the activity, all target LGUs generated an updated BDP as a roadmap in the implementation of RCSP. (DILG Misamis Occidental/PIA10)
