They were identified as Abubakar Kautin alias “Buba”, BIFF Field commander and Philippine Army’s high value target, and Kautin Said.
Firearms surrendered were one M16 rifle and one M1 Garrand rifle.
The two yielded to government last June 4, 2020 with the joint efforts of 40th IB, General SK Pendatun Mayor Rafsanjani P. Ali, and Datu Paglas Mayor Abubakar P. Paglas.
“We will do our mandate of doing military operations in our area to maintain peace and order and at the same time we will accept those who are willing to change. We will accept members of the NPA and BIFF who want a peaceful life and those who want to live with their families,” Lt. Col. Gabi said.
“Your accomplishment in destroying the BIFF and other armed lawless group contributed a lot in maintaining peace and order not only in the 40IB area of operations but also in the area of operations of Joint Task Force Central,” Maj. Gen. Carreon said.
