COTABATO CITY, Mar. 8 (PIA) – Some 202 candidate soldiers recently began their six-month training course at the Division Training School (DTS) in Barangay Semba, Datu Odin Sinsuat (DOS), Maguindanao.
The members of army candidate soldier course classes 631 and 643 of 2020 took their oath before 6th Infantry Division (6ID) Commander Major General Diosdado Carreon on March 1, at the 6ID Grandstand in Camp Siongco.
During the sendoff ceremonies, Major General Carreon told the aspiring soldiers to do their best in the training if they wish to serve the country.
“Do good in your training. Your training will not be an easy one, there is no such thing as an easy training. The day you decided to become a soldier you have dedicated yourselves to a life of discipline and rigid training,” Carreon said.
He also reminded the aspirants that once they become soldiers, they should be ready to give their lives for the protection of the country.
Motivating the trainees, Carreon said: “I would like to congratulate the 202 aspiring soldiers. Think positive, don’t surrender because your loved ones are here, they have high hopes and expectation for you. I would only wish you good luck and enjoy your training.”
The 202 applicants were selected after successfully passing all the mandatory requirements such as physical, medical, neurological, and psychological examinations out of almost a thousand applicants who went through strict selection process.
Of the 202 aspiring soldiers, 191 are males while 11 are females.
After the training, the soldiers will be assigned to different units of 6ID. (PIA-Cotabato City with reports from DPAO-6ID)
