BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur-Camp Jaime N Ferrer Sr, Brgy Maharlika, Bislig City (Stn) – New People’s Army (NPA) Bomb Expert of the Weakened Guerilla Front 14, North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (WGF14, NEMRC) surrenders to Headquarters, 75th Infantry “Marauder” Battalion, yesterday at 09:00 in the morning, September 24, 2019.
The surrender of the said NPA Bomb Expert of WGF14, NEMRC was in line to the recent surrender of the six (6) NPAs to 75IB on September 23, 2019, Monday, under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel Warren C Munda, Commanding Officer of 75IB. The surrenderee identified as AKA Junio and brought with him the following war materials: one (1) cal.45 pistol with one (1) magazine loaded with five (5) rounds cal.45 and one (1) 357 revolver with 4 rounds ammunition.
According to AKA Junio, he was convinced by his comrades to surrender to 75IB. And that, the 75IB will assist and help him to live a normal life with his family and children. “Wala na ko gaduha-duha nga mosurrender sa 75IB. Gusto na ko nga magpuyo nga malinawon kauban ang akong pamilya nga wala nay gikahadlukan pa.” AKA Junio said.
Thus, Lt. Col. Warren C Munda, Commanding Officer of 75IB said, “To all the remaining Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs), so much for this conflict. Let’s all give ourselves, our mind and our heart a space to live with harmony. We are not here to be subdivided, for anything chaotic but we are here as one, to unite in promoting peace and development in the community, in our country as a whole. Let’s help each other to make our country a better and peaceful place to live in.” Lt. Col. Munda ended.
AKA Junio will be enrolled to the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) from the government, as he will be receiving immediate cash assistance, reintegration, and livelihood assistance as well as remuneration for the surrendered firearms and weapons.
