AT LEAST three suspected members of Militia ng Bayan (MB) of the New People’s Army (NPA) have turned themselves in to authorities in Tignapoloan, Cagayan de Oro City, Tuesday.

Police said the former rebels will be social development packages under the government’s Enhances Comprehensive Integration Program (E-Clip).


The program provides benefits and opportunities to former NPA rebels who decided to return to the folds of the law and live a peaceful life.

Members of Police Station 8 in Lumbia conducted internal security operation and facilitate the surrender of the former NPA members.

Police declined to identify the rebels for security considerations.

The former NPA fighters turned over a Garand rifle with 15 rounds live ammo and two magazines; a Carbine Rifle with 20 rounds live ammo and two magazine; two rifle grenade; a caliber 45 pistol and a hand grenade.

City police director Colonel Henry Dampal lauded the efforts of his men which led to the surrender of the NPA members.

Dampal calls on other NPA combatants to abandon the armed struggle and surrender as the government prepared assistance for their fresh start.
