A skirmish between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) broke out at Sitio Macopa and Sitio Kalih on 11 April 2019 on the island-province of Sulu in Mindanao.

Over 250 families or 1 250 individuals have been displaced and are staying with host families at Lower Kabbon Takas. No relief assistance has been reported. These internally displaced people have already been previously affected by armed encounters.

DG ECHO is closely following the evolution of the situation.
