DWDD: OPERATIONAL VISIT | PH Army Commander Visits 71st IB

MAWAB, Compostela Valley –As part of routine operational visits to troops deployed in Mindanao, the Commander 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, Major General Felimon T Santos Jr. AFP visited troops of 71st Infantry (Kaibigan) Battalion at Purok 8, Barangay Nueva Visayas, Mawab, Compostela Valley Province on September 21, 2018, 4:00pm.

Major General Santos was welcomed by troops of 71st IB through traditional military honor hosted by Lieutenant Colonel Esteveyn E Ducusin, Battalion Commander of 71st IB. He was accompanied by his staff, Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Daniel D Tiangco, Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel and Lieutenant Colonel Ronnel B Dela Cruz, Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics and Major Eugene P Esguerra, Assistant Chief of Staff for CEIS. They were later briefed by current threat situation and accomplishment of the unit.

Highlight of the visit is the pinning of ranks for newly promoted personnel of the unitand awarding of Eight (8) units Engine Machine from ABS-CBN LingkodKapamilya Foundation Incorporated to Farmers Association organized by 71st IB.

During his talk-to-men, Major General Santos is very happy with the performance of Kaibigan Troopers in its Area of Operation (AO). He commended the troops for their sacrifices and hard work in performing their duty. He also reminded the troops about family values, to check their children and supervise their needs even though they spend most of their time in work far away from their family.

The visit of Commander 7ID in Mindanao Based Units under his command provided a boost in the morale of men and women of 71st IB to continue their mission to protect and serve the communities of Compostela Valley and Davao Del Norte.

7th ID is the mother unit of 71st IB, based in Fort Magsaysay, Palayan City, NuevaEcija with operational jurisdiction over Central Luzon and send units in Mindanao to help solving insurgency problems and other threats thereat.
