BGEN BENITO N EBUEN AIR BASE, Lapu-lapu City (DWDD) – With its theme, “205th Tactical Helicopter Wing (THW) at 65 Selflessly Serving, Accelerating Heli-lift Capabilities Towards a Jointly Engaged Transforming Force”, the 205th THW of the Philippine Air Force commemorated its 65th Founding Anniversary on September 22, 2017 at the Base Theater, Brigadier General Benito N Ebuen Air Base, Lapu-lapu City.

To recognize the units and individuals who were instrumental to the Wing’s overall accomplishment, awards were conferred to them. The following were:

Individual Awardees:
Officer of the Year – Maj Anthony D Guillermo PAF
NCO of the Year – SSg Francis B Sorsano PAF
Airman of the Year – A1C Billy James M Cortez PAF
Civilian Employee of the Year – Mr Elton Monet B Merelos CE

Squadron of the Year:
Flying Category – 206th Tactical Helicopter Squadron
Non-Flying Category – 451st Supply Squadron

410th Maintenance Wing
2nd Infantry Division
305th Contracting Office

Mactan Island Golf Club

The event was graced by Guest of Honor, Commander of Air Mobility Command, Major General Jose G Mirandilla JR AFP.

Prior to the anniversary celebration, the Wing organized several pre-anniversary activities such as the golf for a cause, chopper’s cup, fun shoot, tree planting, theme composition writing, poster making, thanks giving mass, and wreath laying ceremony spearheaded by its Wing Commander, Colonel Marcelino Randy L Tibayan PAF (GSC). 205th THW/MCAG
