From the Philippine News Agency (Jun 2): Philippine Army's 6th Infantry Division names new chief of staff

Officers, men and women of the 6th Infantry "Kampilan" Division based here on Wednesday welcomed Colonel Bernie Langub who was named the Division Chief of Staff, Army officials here said.

Military officials, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees gathered at the Officer's Clubhouse for the Chang of  Office ceremony of the Chief of Staff early Wednesday morning.

Langub will replace Colonel Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. as the Chief of Staff, a post Langub, the Division bomb expert and Commander of the 38th Infantry Battalion, readily accepted.

Brawner vacated the position since he will be taking the US Army War College International Fellows Program schooling in the United States for a year. He served in the Chief of Staff Office from May 11, 2015 to June 1, 2016.

Major General Edmundo R. Pangilinan, 6th ID Chief, said Colonel Langub now holds the baton as the chief of all the staff officers of the command.

"It is now up to him to bring out the best potentials of the officers for the 6ID to consistently produce excellent output," Pangilinan said.
 "It is now your turn to ensure that the command will be at its best I am confident that you will be able to deliver what is expected of you as the Chief of Staff, Pangilinan said, addressing Col. Langub. Colonel Langub is a well-decorated officer who is also the current Commandant of the the 6th Division Training School. He will perform his duties in dual capacity until a fitting officer will replace him as the Commandant of DTS, CAPT, Joann Petinglay, 6th ID spokesperson said. "The stint of Langub as the Training Commandant and Col. Brawner as the Chief of Staff gave honor to 6ID as their efforts were instrumental for the Kampilan Division to be conferred as the model division of the Philippine Army among all major Army units, Pangilinan said.
