From Update.Ph (Mar 5): IN PHOTOS: US warplanes operate in West Philippine Sea

The Unites States Navy John C. Stennis Strike Group (JCSSG) is conducting routine patrol in US Navy 7th Fleet Area of Operations (AOR) and is currently in West Philippine Sea.

The strike group – composed of a supercarrier, two guided-missile destroyers, and one guided-missile cruiser – transited the Luzon Strait March 1 and have maintained a location in the eastern half of these international waters for four days/

On Friday, March 4 several aircraft of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9 embarked the Nimitz-class supercarrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) have conducted routine air operations.

The said air wing has under its command several fighter, electronic warfare, and early warning aircraft squadrons; and helicopter squadrons.
