From ABS-CBN (Mar 5): 5 soldiers hurt in IED blast in Maguindanao
MAGUINDANAO - Another improvised explosive device (IED) went off in the conflict-ridden Barangay Tee in Datu Salibo town on Saturday morning.
Captain Jo-ann Petinglay, the Philippine Army's 6th Infantry Division spokesperson, said the soldiers from the Division Reconnaissance Company were conducting a clearing operation at Sitio Simsiman when one of the soldiers stepped on a pressure-type IED.
The wounded soldiers were immediately evacuated by the use of airboats.
Major General Edmundo Pangilinan, commander of the Army's 6th Infantry Division, awarded earlier Saturday morning the soldiers who got injured in the operations in Datu Salibo.

As of posting, the number of wounded soldiers in the continuing operations has climbed to 30 and 80% of these are casualties brought about by landmines believed to be planted by fleeing members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters.
