From the Philippine News Agency (Mar 6): 5 soldiers hurt in IED attack in Compostela Valley

Five soldiers from the 46th Infantry Battalion were hurt following a New People's Army (NPA) improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Mabini town, Compostela Valley early on Saturday morning.

Capt. Rhyan Batchar, 10th Infantry Division public affairs office chief, said the incident took place 12:45 a.m. at Sitios Logdeck and Candinuyan, Barangay Golden Valley.

He added troops were on road security patrols when the NPAs suddenly detonated an IED, wounding five troopers.

Four of the five soldiers were brought to Davao Regional Hospital while the other one was rushed to Camp Panacan Station Hospital.

The soldiers' identities are being withheld while their families are being informed of their conditions.
