Camp Melchor F Dela Cruz, Isabela (DWDD) – A launching ceremony of the book entitled “Greenstar: The 5ID Experience” written by Colonel Francisco Millare was held at Army’s 77th IB here in Gamu yesterday, 16 March 2016.
Rev. Fr. Edgar F. Agcaoili, the Vicar General of Archdiocese of Tuguegarao City graced the occasion as Guest of Honor and Speaker. Major General Lysander Suerte, the commander of 5ID said the book is the product of collective experience of 5ID in mitigating the effects of climate change. “We take pride, we honor and with gratitude we say thank you to Colonel Millare for spearheading this project and to all 77IB troopers”, he said.
The book “Greenstar: the 5ID Experience” accounts all the implementing procedures, development and sustainment of the GREENSTAR project and propagate the system that 5ID had developed as a “best practice” on mitigating the effect of climate change.
Colonel Millare says the completion of the book has taken great effort and determination that has involved the significant contribution of several important persons. “This book reflects my passion as leader to educate many of our soldiers and our stakeholders to participate in the unending problem of climate change”, he added. 5DPAO / MCAG
