CAMP GENERAL EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – AFP Chief of Staff General Hernando DCA Iriberri AFP and AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retirees Affairs, J9 Rear Admiral Aurelio A Rabusa Jr. presided over the donning of ranks ceremony of House of Representatives Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr., March 17, 2016, at the Hall of Flags of the General Headquarters Building, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Speaker Belmonte is now a Commander in the Philippine Navy Reserve Force.
Belmonte was Mayor of Quezon City from 2001 to 2010 during which time he was selected as the Most Outstanding Mayor of the Philippines by the Local Government Leadership Awards.
1992 marked Belmonte’s first stint as congressman. Before he became mayor, Belmonte was elected representative of the 4th Congressional District of Quezon City, and held the position for three consecutive terms. Belmonte was Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2001, and also served as House Minority Leader. In his first two terms, he was the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations.
