From the Manila Times (Mar 17): 8 civilians in encounter site questioned
POLICE in Butuan City have invited for questioning eight civilians, three of them male and five female after they were sighted in the encounter site between police forces and suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Sitio Tud-Ol, Barangay Manila de Bugabos in Butuan City last Tuesday.
Reports said that 34 troopers of the Regional Public Safety Company, 13th Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) led by Senior Insp. Johncel Barrameda were in a combat operation when they encountered around 10 NPA rebels believed to be under the Guerilla Front (GF-4A).
The troops also recovered from the encounter site subversive documents and invited eight civilians seen in the encounter site for further investigation by the police, the reports said.
