Joint police and military operatives arrested on Sunday a
suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebel in the hinterlands of Zamboanga del
Sur, the police reported Monday.
Inspector Dahlan Samuddin, Police Regional Office (PRO-9)
information officer, identified the arrested NPA rebel as Johnny Anter, alias
Bulldog.
Samuddin said Anter was arrested at around 11 a.m. Sunday
while the troops were on security patrol in Barangay Barangay Dalapan, San
Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.
He said the arresting team confiscated from Anter’s
possession a caliber .38 revolver with three live ammunition and a hand
grenade.
