The Supreme Court (SC) was asked on Monday to reconsider its
ruling affirming the dismissal of Cadet 1st Class Aldrin Jeff Cudia from the
Philippine Military Academy (PMA).
In a motion for reconsideration (MR) filed through his
counsel, the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Cudia cited the alleged violations
of his constitutional and human rights as the basis of his appeal.
He argued that he was deprived of his right to confront the
witnesses against him.
He also claimed that he was deprived to present evidence and
to have a fair and impartial trial.
Cudia also asked the SC to reexamine the findings of the
Commission on Human Rights (CHR).
The camp of Cudia also urged the SC to order the conduct of
an oral argument, especially so that he has decided to break his silence.
The affidavit of Cudia was attached to the MR wherein he
stated the events involving his case since Nov. 14, 2013, the day when he came
late for two minutes in his English Class, which was made as basis for his
dismissal from the PMA.
The SC dismissed the petition of Cudia on Feb. 24, 2015.
