THE MILITARY and police have raised their alert level in anticipation of possible terror attacks by the New People’s Army (NPA) which is celebrating its 46th founding anniversary on March 29.
Maj. Gen. Eduardo M.Año, commander of 10th Infantry Division, said troops have been told to be more vigilant since the start of the month.
The army is continuing its military offensives, particularly in Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley.
“Normally, when their anniversary comes, they conduct ambushes, harassments and torching of equipment but we are already prepared for those,” he said.
“We’ll anticipate their movements and instead go on the offensive with the help of the people in the communities,” he added.
Chief Supt. Wendy G.Rosario, regional police director, also said that they are also on alert status even though there is no threat in Davao City.
