Communist Party of the Philippines
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today called on the Filipino people to reject the coverup operations being carried out by Malacañang in connivance with pro-Aquino senators and congressmen and officials of the police and military.
“The contrived public revelation of the supposed text exchanges last January 25 between Aquino and suspended police chief Alan Purisima, his favorite lackey police official is clearly part of the coverup to exculpate Aquino of any culpability over the botched Mamasapano operation,” said the CPP.
The Mamasapano operation which was hatched and carried out by the US military using the local police and coordinated with Aquino and his key officials aimed to assassinate Zulkifli Bin Hir (Marwan) who is included in the US “terrorist listing” with a reward money of more than $5 million. A gunbattle ensued between police troopers and Moro fighters resulting in the death of 44 special action forces who were left without support from other police or military units.
“Yesterday’s public disclosure of the supposed exchanges between Aquino and Purisima at the public hearings of the pro-Aquino Senate are designed to make the public believe that Aquino was misinformed that the PNP troops in Mamasapano had military support in order to draw the people’s anger away from his incompetence as commander-in-chief,” pointed out the CPP.
“Prior to yesterday’s Senate hearing, Aquino visited the families of the slain police troops where he was seen showing the text messages in his cellphone making it appear that official correspondences on the matter were done through those text messages,” added the CPP.
The CPP pointed out how the Senate public hearings are being dominated by pro-Aquino senators who take every opportunity to issue statements exonerating Aquino and clearing the US military of any responsibility in the operation."
“Aquino’s coverup efforts are being carried out in full blast, one month after efforts to conceal the truth has provoked widespread public anger and place the ruling regime in a political crisis,” said the CPP.
“Aquino’s coverup, however, is pushing the Filipino people to ask more questions and demand the whole truth and compelling them to intensify their clamor for the Aquino regime’s ouster,” said the CPP.
