From the Philippine News Agency (Dec 9): Army Division opens 'Paskuhan sa Kampilan' ahead of Christmas Day

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao -- The Army's 6th Infantry "Kampilan" Division opened on Tuesday the "Paskuhan sa Kampilan" village inside this sprawling military headquarters in Maguindanao.

Themed "12 Days of Christmas," the Paskuhan sa Kampilan features nightly presentation from various elementary and public schools in the province to entertain visitors, mostly soldiers and their families.

The "village" also serves as fellowship venue for units of the Army Division to celebrate Christmas party along with the soldiers' families.

Maj. Gen. Edmundo Pangilinan, 6th ID chief, said the Paskuhan sa Kampilan is another indication the military is in control of the situation in its area of responsibility.

Pangilinan urged the public to consider the Paskuhan sa Kampilan in their itinerary in welcoming Christmas.

He said the area is 100 percent safe since it is inside the Army camp.
