BACOLOD CITY – The Philippine Army 62nd Infantry Battalion (IB) released the names of the two members of the New People’s Army (NPA) who were killed in a series of clashes with government forces in Barangay Macagahay, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental on June 13.

According to the Army, their families identified them as Benjie Ebarle, alias “Omar,” and Roweno Anobong, alias “Wen,” 46, both residents of Barangay Macagahay, and alleged members of Central Negros (CN) 1.

Their cadavers were turned over to a funeral parlor in Moises Padilla, after they have been extracted from Sitio Cupad, Barangay Macagahay to Barangay Maytubig, Isabela, Negros Occidental through the Philippine Air Force Black Hawk from
Tactical Operation Group 6 (TOG6).

The two rebels were killed in encounters with the 62nd IB in Barangay Macagahay.

At least 32 families were displaced by the clashes but have already returned to their respective houses following the go-signal from the authorities.
