DSWD National Leadership dialogues with Grassroots Peoples Organization
Under Secretary Alan Tanjusay focal head of Inclusive and Sustainable Peace Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development personally led the dialogue with the 65 leaders of Peoples Organization in the boundary of Region XI and XII during their gathering at Headquarters of 39th Infantry Battalion at Poblacion, Makilala, Cotabato Province on June 15, 2023.
The dialogue which was jointly organized by DSWD FO XII and 39th Infantry Battalion was made purposely to hear stories from the grassroots and to the former communities affected by conflict as part of the impact assessment and continous improvement of the agency's different programs in sustaining the peace gains particularly in Alip Range.
In his concluding message USec Tanjusay, reassured the attendees of DSWD's continuous service for Former Rebels, Peoples Organizations and other marginalized sectors of society in their effort to eliminate social divide and poverty.
Meanwhile, LtCol Ezra Balagtey emphasized the importance of the stories of the people in the communities.
"Listening to the stories of of the people in the grassroots will help us improve our approach in sustaining the gains and building peace in the communities." Balagtey said.
The activity was likewise attended by Atty Vanessa Goc-Ong of DSWD Field Office XI and Ryan Balanza, ELCAC Focal of DSWD XII and different Municipal Social Welfare Officers from different Municipalities
The activity was culminated with the distribution of financial assistance and food packs to the attendees.
