ARAKAN, COTABATO – The Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Kitaotao in partnership with various Government Agencies, Municipal Police Station (MPS) Kitaotao and Army’s 72nd Infantry “Gabay” Battalion joined hand-in-hand during the opening program of the 2nd batch of 2-Day Punong Barangay Peace and Development Summit to 4 barangays in Kitaotao held at Kitubo Elementary School, Barangay Kitubo, Kitaotao, Bukidnon that commenced earlier today, July 27, 2021.
The 2-Day Barangay Governance Peace Summit with the theme “Kapit Kamay tungo sa Pagbabago ng Barangay. Makiisa, Makilahok, Makialam” was attended by the Local Chief Executives, Barangay Officials and Purok Leaders/Tribal Leaders of Barangay Balocbocan, Balangigay, Tandong and Metebagao all of Kitaotao. Further, the first day of discussion focused on the available programs and projects of the Government; “Kabataang Kontra Droga at Terorismo”; life and profiling of former rebels; on how to increase the awareness of the local barangay officials on the schemes and methods of recruitment operation of the NPA rebels especially in the youth sector and its prevention; the NPA rebels influenced/affected schools; and the operational update within the unit’s Area of Operations. The second day of discussion will focus on the appraisal of local barangay officials on the Government’s thrust in the implementation of Executive Order (EO) 70; and educate them on how to ensure the operationalization of the Barangay Based Institution.
Present during the 1st Day were Hon. Rodito B Rafisura, Municipal Administrator; Ms. Maria Cleofe Austria, Municipal Health Officer; Mr. Cylde Ampa MSWDO Representative; Ms. Cora G Montesa, Agricultural Technologist; PCpt Marvin Inciso, COP-Kitaotao; Col. Ted B Dumosmog, Deputy Brigade Commander, 1002nd Bde; LTC Jose C Regonay Jr, Commanding Officer 72IB; Barangay Captains, Barangay Officials and Purok/Tribal Leaders of 4 Barangays; troops and officers of 1002nd Bde and 72IB.
“This activity is one of the many proofs that our Government is really sincere in their commitment to deliver services to all of you. Rest assured that the Local Government Unit of Kitaotao headed by Hon. Lorenzo Gawilan Jr will give its full support and cooperation in all the activities, programs and projects intended for all of you.” Hon. Rafisura said in his message. He also expressed his gratitude to all men and women in uniform for their exceptional dedication in fighting and ending our 52-year struggle against insurgency.
In response, Lieutenant Colonel Jose C Regonay Jr, Commanding Officer, 72IB said in his message, “The realization of this activity will not be possible without the unwavering support of the Local Government of Kitaotao, extending their hands and giving their full support and cooperation during the said activity”. He assured that the unit will continue to give its full support in all the programs and projects of the Government.
