Posted to Kalinaw News (Jan 19, 2021): Soldiers Extends Assistance to the Family of Dead NPA in Surigao del Norte
PLACER, Surogao del Norte— The 30th Infantry (Fight On) Battalion, facilitated the turnover and extended assistance to the bereaved family of late Danelyn Sanico Fabre alyas Karen, as she was laid to rest in the public cemetery at Barangay Pungtod, Alegria, Surigao del Norte, Tuesday afternoon, January 19.
In can be recalled that the said personality was abandoned by her comrades together with another wounded female NPA in a clash transpired between operating troops of 30IB and Communist Terrorist Group belonging to SYP16C1 and SDG of Guerilla Front 16, NEMRC in the vicinity of Sitio Katikuyan, Barangay Camam-onan of Gigaquit town last January 13.
Upon the retrieval from the encounter site, the soldiers immediately coordinated with the local government unit of Claver for the proper disposition of Danelyn’s dead body before she was formally turnover to her family so that they can accord her with a decent burial. Aside from the assistance given by LGU-Claver, the local government of Mainit, where Danelyn hails from, also extended financial aid to her family.
In the statement of Evilyn Fabre, the grieving mother of Danelyn, she said that they were thankful for the assistance given by the government specifically to the soldiers who took the extra effort to return their daughter home after she her lifeless body was abandoned by her comrades.
“Nagsubo gajud ako pamilya sa inin nahitabo sa ako anak na gikan sa bukid. Nanghinaut ako na dili na nila (NPA) utrohon pa paglinlang inin mga kabatanonan. Dako ako pasalamat inin mga Army na nakatabang sa ija bisan tuod na patay na sija waya sija pasagdi, giuli gihapon diri sa amo. Pasalamat gajud kaninyo, na inyo sija gitabangan bisan tuod kalayo sa gindalhan sa ija nahiabot gihapon diri sa amoa ang ija patay na lawas, nagpasalamat ako sa inyo tanan na walay ninyo sya pasagdi. Hinaot ko na an tanan aduna pa gihapo’y inyo kasulbaran sa uban pa”, the mother said.
On the other hand, the father of Judelyn called on the former comrades of his daughter to surrender and heed to the call of the government so that they will not suffer the same fate.
“Nag istorya ako sa kauban nila sa bukid na mag surrender na para di mo mapatay parehas sa ako bata nga gidala niyo nga buhi, pero nahiuli diri sa amo na patay na”, Ernesto Fabre said
Meanwhile, Col. George L Banzon, Commander of 901st Infantry (Fight Em) Brigade, he expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the NPA member. He said that it was very unfortunate that another life gone wasted because of the exploitation being conducted by the Communist NPA Terrorist.
“We are saddened with what happened. We also expressed our condolence to the family especially to the parents for the untimely demise of their daughter. We fervently pray that she may rest in peace. It was not our intention to destroy ones life but we are mandated to protect the lives of many. Her bright future was robbed by the communist terrorists who deceitfully took advantage of her vulnerabilities”, he said.
He also stressed that the government is always ready to welcome the NPA members who want to return to the folds of the law especially those who were lured and victimized by CTG through their deceptive recruitment scheme.
“Through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program, our government is continuously reaching out for these people to abandon the violence and embrace the path of peace. We would like to convey to them that the best option is to surrender”, the Commander added.
