Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy, the newly-installed Joint Task Central Commander visited the Western Mindanao Command purposely to pay a courtesy call on Maj. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., the unit commander Saturday morning, September 12.
Maj. Gen. Uy was welcomed with traditional company-sized military honors rendered by the officers and enlisted personnel of the command.
“I would like to express my gratitude to the WestMinCom family for the warm welcome,” said Maj. Gen. Uy.
He was then received by Maj. Gen. Vinluan, Jr., Deputy Commander for Admin Brig. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, Deputy Commander for Operations Brig. Gen. Camilo Balutan, 54th Engineer Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Anthony Cacayuran, and the Command Staff at the Laong-Laan Hall located at the WestMinCom headquarters in Calarian, Zamboanga City.
“We welcome Maj. Gen. Uy to our team. I am very confident that he will be able to bring the JTF Central and the 6th Infantry Division to greater heights,” said Maj. Gen. Vinluan, Jr.
“He already proved it when he became instrumental to the rising of 6ID to a star rank during his stint as the assistant division commander of said unit,” the commander added.
Maj. Gen. Uy is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy “Makatao” Class of 1989. He is the 37th Commander of the 6th Infantry Division and the concurrent commander of the Joint Task Force Central.
